·Line service expansion
The Container Department endeavors to expand container business in international and domestic services, feeder services and Yangshan transshipment service.
Currently, TICT possesses several international services which include Japan service, South Korea service, Taiwan service, Hong Kong service, Southeast Asia service, and domestic services to South China, North China and along the Yangtze River. These services have linked TICT with other major domestic ports.
The establishment of Taicang-Yangshan barge logistics platform provides a convenient and fast “water shuttle bus” from Taicang Port to Yangshan Port, which greatly saves the per unit cost, and also at least 18 to 24 hours are saved on transportation as well.
·Business extension
Based on the hinterland of Yangtze River Delta, TICT actively push forward the construction of cargo resource market, and build important links between shipping companies and agencies so that more cargos will be attracted to Taicang Port. Ultimately shipping companies would be encouraged for opening new service lines in TICT.
The startup of the cooperation between Suzhou Industrial Park and Taicang Port has helped TICT further expand its hinterlands. Under this cooperation, none-water seaport project among Suzhou Industrial Park, Suzhou New and Hi-tech Development Zone, Suzhou Five Counties, Wuxi, Nantong, and Changzhou is set up to extend TICT’s functions. This project has greatly improved Customs clearance efficiency to make cargo import and export faster and more efficient.
